Cindy..have you tried ibuprofin? I take tylenol 3 and sometimes it gets so bad that they dont work. I have the pain on a continuous basis but about 2-3x daily it flares up so i will take a T3 and a 400mg of ibuprofin. Im just speaking from my own experience but thats what works for me.

This was my first month with what I beleive to be ovulatory pain. It was the day I was ovulating and last about 30minutes very intense, but was near my pubic bone. I have stage 1-2 endo with lap and laser removal 3 months ago. Anybody still able to conceive with this kind of pain? I feel like the doctors don't listen to me they just want to push fertility drugs on me to speed up conception. And since I'm a practicing veterinarian they will not presribe any pain medication stronger than a nonsteroidal! Not that I would ever take it at work! Please any suggestions this really sucks to hurt like this with no way out. If I ever treated my patients thus way I would not have a job. Please help

I can't take any NSAIDS at all, because of my Gastric By-pass - it will burn through my stomach, everything has to be Tylenol based - which sucks. I am going to ask my doctor on Tuesday what else I can do, because I am going through Ty#3 like candy. The pain subsides for a bit and then comes back. I have been using me heating pad 4 times a day trying to soothe it.

Hmm, I'm not sure what to tell you. If you're absolutely sure you're not ovulating yet and it's very tender, it's probably worth a call to your doc. Could be some sort of infection, cycts, or any number of other things. Please take care and let us know what happens!

Figured i'd post this here cuz it fits where my pain is but reason for pain unknown yet...
Monday night, i started to have mild cramping on my right side where my ovary is AGAIN. Now pain is much worse. First sign of pain since surgery. I cant chalk it up to ovulation can I? Do i still ovulate after a hyster if they didnt take my ovaries? Im wondering if it had anything to do with having sex Sunday night. Can the pain start 24hrs later. Ive been taking tylenol 1's with codiene and they are not working. Im terrified to take ibuprofin now cuz of the heartburn even though im taking nexium. The pain would make sense if i still ovulated as it would be that time for me. Im not concerned about a UTI or bladder infection as i have none of the symptoms that come along with those things. Can anyone help?

If you still have ovaries, I believe you can still ovulate, unless you're on something that would prevent it. (Pls someone correct me if I'm wrong). Pam, if the tylenol 1s aren't working, you can do a low-to-moderate dosage of ibuprofen, as that's not metabolized through the liver like tylenol is, according to my doc (which is why I can take painkillers and up to 800mg ibuprofen at the same time, when I need it). I'd keep it 400mgs or less, and definitely eat something, first, preferably something that has protein. If you still have heartburn, you can chew some gaviscon tablets. Try a heating pad for a little while, too, but if it either makes it worse or gives you no relief, discontinue that.
If you still don't see any significant pain relief after a while, and it continues to get worse, see your doc.
Watch out for a fever that's greater than usual PMS/menstrual fever, or that caused by heating of the bod by a heating pad, too, especially if you have nausea or any other kinds of abdominal symptoms. That's definitely something to be checked out by a doc.

Im not taking anything to prevent ovulation and all i can handle is the 400mg ibuprofin. Ive tried my heating bean bag with no success. I have a doctors appt friday so i may tough it out as im still doing everthing without interuption. Maybe i'll take a bed rest day today and see how it goes from there.

Yeah, I think it's def something to talk to your doc about. Could be sex - before I even knew what was going on, I wouldn't have pain from sex until the next day, it was never the day of. And it always freaked me out. But, best to talk it over with your doc just in case. Let us know what he says about ovulation!

So the pain moved from my abdomen down to in between my vagina and rectum. The pain was so freaking intense, like everytime i sat, it felt like i was sitting on a handful of knives that i couldnt wait. I went to the ER and it turns out that i have cyst under my skin. Unfortunately, it happens to be in the wrong place...bummer

Turns out it was a cyst under my skin...they have me on antibiotics and said it should disolve on its own. As for the abdomen pain, they said its just still healing and is prob caused from all the scar tissue.
